This highly emotive piece was created during a time of despair and hopelessness and rejection. The texture is smooth but cut into, lines travel across the piece but only viewed from the different lights. The black on black has trails of impasto patterns and swirls that travel across the canvas.
The tones flash the vibrancy of the reds and blues, creams, and flesh tones. However, there is just darkness. This autobiographical piece was a transference of emotions following a period of abuse, resentment, and sadness. It captured the feelings of bleakness that every bridge had been burned, and the artist had to now live in the destruction of her own making.
