Dan Howard (b. 1931) has been awarded over 100 honors in a career spanning more than 40 years. During that time, he also chaired art departments at Kansas State University, Arkansas State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he is now Emeritus Faculty.

He received his B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1953, and his M.F.A. from the University of Iowa in 1958. His work has been displayed in New York, Houston, Chicago and San Francisco galleries, as well as the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.
