The Bird

The Bird, located in Hastings, Nebraska, is a large wooden sculpture, measuring 168" tall and 48" wide. The sculpture roughly depicts a bird in an abstract manner, and is at once stately and mysterious, especially as it looks out over the lake at the Bridges Housing Development.

Thomas Kreager went to Sylvania High School in Sylvania Ohio, received his B.F.A. from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and received his M.F.A. from the University of Illinois in Champagne, Illinois. He has worked as a Glass Blowing instructor at Hastings College in Hastings Nebraska since 1990 and retired the spring of 2019.
