My friend encouraged me to create this portrait of a painting bunting pair that frequents her backyard in Central Texas. She has a majestic old St. John's wort bush and the birds spent the spring and summer gracing its branches. This collage painting was created using hand-painted paper embellished with original stencils and hand-cut stamps. The ephemera includes maps of central Texas, sheet music, shopping lists, campaign literature from the 2020 presidential election, and other bits and bobs. Wired on the back and ready to hang.
