Originally conceived for the 2021 Lunar New Year of the Ox, this painting transcends the holiday as an inspiring piece to view all year round.
The background was painted red with gold leaf. The ox is collaged on top with hand-painted ephemera including Asian language books and newspapers as well as San Diego maps and mulberry paper.
