There's something fascinating about digging in a sandy beach and finding water. I find it ironic that children will work very hard to create their own tiny little body of water while sitting next to a giant one they could easily enjoy instead.
I took this reference photo in Sheboygan, WI with Lake Michigan in the background. This piece was almost entirely painted with a palette knife.
Pigments used: Transparent Red Oxide (PR101), Indian Yellow (PY110), English Blue (PB36), and Titanium White (PW6).
