Sonorous, Revisited (2017) is part of a series exploring the pure physicality of dogs in water, free, joyful, and completely present. Painted in acrylic and spray paint on canvas, the dog moves through a swirl of color that is equal parts water and feeling, the world dissolving into sensation around him. At 24 x 30 inches, the painting captures something that is hard to put into words, that uncomplicated aliveness that dogs carry so naturally and remind us to find in ourselves.
