Burnt Offering

Burnt Offering was created in response to a diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer. Feeling raw and vulnerable I started making mixed media relief pieces first on circular pieces of pine, when I neighbor said that her husband had cut down limbs from a tree in their yard and the light went off... a perfect analogy for how I felt. I loved the imperfect shape and the history that was in each section of a tree.
