There was a time when you had to wait to get fresh oysters. Nowadays, you can order just about any type of oyster on the internet. They pick them fresh and within 2 days they are at your door. For my paintings, its wonderful to have fresh oysters to photograph. For this painting, I was outdoors shucking, sharing and eating them with my husband with my trusty iPhone always nearby. It was bright and sunny and the mid-day sun created dark shadows and glistening highlights. The perfect set-up for creating a memory for myself and a beautiful and juicy painting.
