Gilchrist drug store Mt. Brook AL. Miriam used to go here as a child and get shakes and drinks with friends. It was in the village about a mile from her childhood home. This scene depict domestic workers, primarily African American, who worked in wealthy, white Mt Brook homes every day, returning home by bus.
