Nice etching of a river and town, almost certainly somewhere in Europe. Beneath the center of the image but still within the plate mark there is remarque of three birds in flight.
Paul Geissler, 1881-1965, was a German artist who worked in Europe, and the United States, and was well known for his etchings and engravings. Geissler began his career as an artist at the School of Arts and Crafts in Erfurt and later went on to study at the School of Arts in Weimar. His love for painting soon transitioned into a passion for etching, for which he is best known. An extensive traveler, Geissler's etchings reflect the world he experienced as he absorbed the scenery, people, and landmarks of major cities around the globe.
