As the granddaughter of immigrants I am outraged, saddened, and disillusioned. I wonder if the current behavior of the Trump administration would have ended my lineage. My grandparents escaped Eastern Europe for the United States from authoritarian madness over a hundred years ago. I doubt they would have qualified for immigration into this country if they had tried to claim asylum within the last four years.
