Leaving a continent gone mad to start fresh in the United States. The path to a new homeland was bumpy and demoralizing. As immigrants my grandparents were locked in cages, lived in tenements, worked jobs far below their skills. Their beliefs held them together creating strength as they worked their way into a tiny piece of the American dream.
