I make art because I’m curious about the unknown in nature, science, and literature. Reading Moby-Dick in college led to a fascination with whales and the deep ocean in general. I’m fascinated by nature and the mysterious parts of our universe from outer space to the deep ocean. When I work, I use brushes, improvised tools, and my bare hands to build up translucent layers of color and collage. All these separate layers form one cohesive image that tells a sort of story.
