Cavalo. Full face mask used in performances by Arizona dance and theater. It has enormous teeth that are outlined in pink and brown. Across the cheeks are yellow, pink, and blue w-shaped designs. On the chin is a sizeable green w-shape design, and the eyes are outlined in light purple and bright blue with dark yellow triangles coming out of the bottom. The four head has a large blue dot at the center with bright pink and green w-shaped designs on either side.
It is made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer.
These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
