This painting about the radioactive soil in Fukushima evolved on its own. I was painting one of the bags and a person or robot emerged in the picture. Ideally, people should not be scooping up the soil into the bags. I have seen photographs where cranes are being used to do the dirty job. I have also seen people picking up with bare hands detritus that has spilled out of the bags. Robots should be doing this thankless job.
After all, Japan wants to host the 2020 olympics...and they are planning to have some of the training done in Fukushima?????
