There is something about this view of Queens Road West that reminds me of a modern cathedral. I think it’s the way the trees connect overhead. It’s also how, at certain times of the day, light illuminates the live oak branches and leaves like stained glass, changing color with the seasons. Lime green, to blues to oranges and rusts.
And it’s the grandeur of the trunks, like the timbers of a century-old church, having seen its “congregation” of passersby navigate through the winding aisle.
Grateful for my moments under that impressive canopy and for the chance to paint it again.
