Forsythia Branch by Mary Kamerer Impressionist Painting Image: When I think of Spring flowers, I often think of the glorious forsythia that stood at the corner of our front porch. It was a favorite of my mother’s and every year she would announce that her forsythia had bloomed—-a sure sign of Spring.
Those bright yellow petals always seemed to coincide with Easter, flagging the announcement of new Sunday dresses and sweet anise breads topped with sugar sprinkles. A simple still life of a forsythia branch in water was a sweet, meditative way to remember mom and the house. This still life is framed in a warm silver museum-style frame.
