I take loads of photographs to create paintings from when traveling... not to copy the photos, but to use them as a jumping off point for a composition. This painting is not an actual place, but a memory and the use of some elements I saw and from the photos. The barns were usually weathered gray or had been painted white on this trip. But, I wanted to see what a yellow barn would look like! And, there was not a dirt road going to the chicken house either! Just a figment of my imagination.
