This started out as a scene from North Georgia, and across the Toccoa River where I paint often. There was the railroad track just on the other side up a small bank. I was not happy with that part of the painting and changed it to create just woods. It needed something, so I decided there are riverside bushes that have a red quality to them, and put an exaggerated version of them. Red and green are opposites on the color wheel so it made for a wonderful contrast.
