This photo was taken on my front patio after a rain. This “not so” little fella was making his way slowly across the concrete when I nearly stepped on him. I was in awe of how beautiful his/her shell was. Later that day when I viewed the photo on my computer, I was amazed at the opacity of his tail (which I learned was actually his foot) and the details on his head (which I learned had 2 sets of tentacles; lower for smell and the uppers actually have eyes at the tips!) Subtle details are missed while focusing on the larger more obvious features…as is with most things in life.
