We would often see the Marmots sunning themselves on the rocks on the side of the road. As I photographed, I couldn’t help but notice that there is such expression in their faces and that no two looked alike. I find that painting animals is quite similar to portrait painting; I strive to capture the subject’s personality, and I appreciate a good pose.
