Linnea works in several different mediums. She uses the attributes of Watercolour and Acrylic to add complexity within the surface of her paintings to create an illusion of movement; stirring a memory or an emotion for the viewer. Growing up in Calgary and having a cottage in Invermere the 3 hour travel time winding through Alberta’s vast mountains and summer tumbling around in nature is what grew Linnea’s love for nature’s beauty and bases her artwork on this; a constant eye of seeing;” Love for the unspoken words of nature”.

My intention, to spark personal recollections in the viewer from an unconventional perspective, carefully building layers leaving a translucent history, (obsession with layers!) using depth of colour, luminescence and surface transitions, transitions of slight sodalities. The complexity of this process takes me on a journey each and every time I paint, the adding and subtracting of paint almost a staining of the canvas, building up the depth layer by layer by layer!
