🌾 Here’s a glimpse into “Serendipity”—a surprise encounter where tranquility proved contagious. We were alone, parked in front of Fossil Ridge Wildlife Refuge, sipping coffee while waiting for sunrise so we could get tickets and drive around taking pictures.
Dawn slowly revealed this small herd of bison roaming in a hill country pasture. Right in front of us. So close, I could’ve offered them coffee.
Carpeted in autumn wildflowers, the rocky ground ran with miniature waterfalls after the night’s thunderstorm. A small forest of ancient hill country oaks dwarfed the massive beasts they sheltered. Soft clouds floated above all, as if in apology for the overnight chaos of thunder and lightning.
Can you feel the gentle rustle of lilac gayfeathers, snowy Queen Anne’s lace and golden sunflowers against the tall grass? Sense the warm sunlight filtering down through the trees? I hope so. This painting isn’t just about the buffalo— it’s a celebration of nature's quiet wonders—the interplay of wild with serene. 🦬✨ An unplanned, unexpected moment shared by all.
