Javelina roam the Davis Mountains around my studio. These fierce, bristly critters, often mistaken as wild pigs or hogs, are actually collared peccaries, cousins of deer. They run in packs, are ill-tempered and nearly blind, so they rely on their acute sense of smell to forage and to avoid predators. While we give them due respect, we're also hugely entertained by these comic-looking creatures.
