Weathered wooden fenceposts are slowing disappearing from ranch country, replaced by sturdy but character-less metal poles. When I encounter old posts with barbed wire still attached, I think of the cowboy whose hands must have once ached from stringing that wire so tight, it still stands. This section of fence had been carefully wrapped open, perhaps to be sure to let in the distant rain shower moving in.
Framed in burled wood to echo the character of these old fenceposts.
