Across the ages, water in the desert draws life. Hiking alone outside Tucson, I happened on this natural spring. Yes, of course I sat on one of these rocks, shucked my hiking boots and dangled my feet in the cool water. One of the best things in life is cold water on a hot day. (Shade being a close second!)
PS True Confession: I painted this 24x36 oil from the air-conditioned comfort of home, but my toes still curl and smile every time I see this painting, "Desert Waters" done c.1988
