Aoudads aren't native to West Texas, but these exotics got here as soon as they could, then spread across the ranch country of the Davis Mountains. They thrive in our grasslands, with plenty of room to roam. Fences don't phase them. You can go months without spotting one, perhaps because their red gold coats blend in perfectly with native grasses and oak. Then, suddenly you'll come up on a herd moving across the ocean of grass in waves of hooves and horns, each animal in the herd almost indistinguishable from another.
This watercolor is on a museum grade board coated with several layers of matte archival varnish. It is a painted jewel that needs no glass to protect it. Set it on a table easel or shelf, or hang it on your wall.
