The King of Hearts is known as the Suicide King as his sword looks like it's penetrating his head. This is because of 14C block printing and bad prints that his axe turned into the image we see today. This work reflects on the dual personality that's possible in the deterioration of mental health - the pious King vs the mad King - the father who commits femicide or filicide - the honorable soldier who commits suicide after being at war. My hope is that this brings some awareness which is a global problem especially toward women and children.
