Message
This diptych juxtaposes two areas of Eastern Oregon’s landscape with different land and water uses, separated by a road. The top panel depicts the water, levies and salt flats of Summer Lake’s wildlife refuge, a stopping place for birds on the Pacific Flyway. The bottom is a field growing alfalfa for the region’s cattle industry.
