Artist Bio

Piper Bridwell is a self-taught artist from Oklahoma City, and her faith is at the core of her work. The blending of rich colors to create a sense of light is a reflection for the way she hopes to live her life and inspire others. The thick texture is the way she wants to convey the gratitude for what God has done in her life. Her works are oil and mixed media and are collected and represented by private collectors and galleries both domestically and internationally.

Piece Description

Piper’s work has been described as having a tactile quality, with the texture making the art feel almost sculptural. That can be seen in her version of the AAA, which puts the valve against a blue-fading-to-yellow background, with small half-moons in many colors serving as a foundation for the valve itself.

“My AAA is sitting in what I see as Oklahoma wildflowers in front of an Oklahoma sunset,” she says. “These are the things I immediately think of when I think of home in Oklahoma. However, texture and blending of colors in my work also has a more personal meaning. All of my work has an exaggerated texture that represents my gratitude for the many ways the Lord has blessed my life. The blending of colors reminds me to be a light to this world and shine the love of Jesus to all.”
