Artist Bio

Kimray discovered artist Lisa Lampton-Allen when Thomas Hill walked by her studio, Hideout Art, in the Britton district of Oklahoma City, and went in for a spur-of-the-moment tour.

In an earlier interview, Lisa told the OU Daily that she had always loved painting but couldn’t tap into her creative side until she started using tools beyond the basic brush, like trowels. Now she teaches novice painters how to create using trowels and other tools.

Piece Description

Perhaps a first for Kimray’s AAA collection, Lisa delivered her interpretation of our iconic valve just days after first meeting us. In fact, when she came for a campus tour, she brought her finished AAA with her. The piece is full of splashes, blots, and whorls of color, with a punk rock vibe.
