41×31” Cyanotype, oil stick, acrylic ink, botanical dye on sewn textiles, framed in a custom maple float frame.
This piece carries the quiet wisdom of time. Created with textiles I began working on in 2022 and completed in 2025, What the Garden Knows is a layered reflection of years spent experimenting, stitching, and slowly growing a language between my abstract work and cyanotypes. The sewn elements are like chapters, each one marking a moment of inquiry, intuition, or breakthrough in my practice. There’s a tenderness in this piece, but also resilience. It resists easy categorization, and I love her for that. To me, she feels like a living thing, soft yet grounded, cultivated through patience and devotion.
