Night Swimmer portrays a woman floating horizontally in the dark, her body stenciled with constellations and merging seamlessly with the star-filled sky. Rendered in India ink, aqueous graphite, and collaged dyed muslin, the figure becomes both swimmer and cosmos—dissolving the boundaries between self and universe. This image evokes a state of becoming, where the body is no longer separate from the natural world but participates in its vast, rhythmic unfolding. It reflects a transformation through immersion: a surrender to mystery, to night, to the deep currents of the unconscious and the ocean. Part of the Night Sea Journey series, Night Swimmer suggests that healing and meaning emerge when we allow ourselves to drift into the unknown and be reconstituted by the stars and sea.
