Excerpt from my writing about Russell Maliphant "Gestus": A never-ending caress of the space, a circular motion that moves the bones to the flesh without breaking speeds in the flow of desire. The shift happens in continuity, and even if the bodies reach the elements of breaking, it is dancing an illusion that comes into play to make us remember we come from the earth, rooting ourselves with our organs and nervous system, like the branches of the trees that speak and protect each other with curves.
The intertwined connected matters of the universe appear to be dancing in-between the organic space of the movers who slide into our unshaped memories of our fabrics made of tissus. tissus made of liquid that brings enough elasticity to bend, flex, reflex, and grow, extend, and return to the center of the earth: with our gravity. We are surrounded by space. We are made of space. We move with the space. We are spacious bodies living beings.
"Russell brings kindness to the in-between space of our imagination. With his soft voice, he is inviting genuily his dancers to return to their own generosity and be this never ending beauty of rivering through the cosmic density of our humanity. " Keren'Or
