Lines equal motion. It is what animates a painting, gives it motion, gives it life. When it is there it is there. You see it, you feel it. I know I have it without looking at a painting, it is a feeling, knowledge that happens simultaneously as I make a stroke with the pen, the brush. I feel it through my arm, connecting my brain and hand and motion and stroke and what appears on the canvas — be it paper, glass screen, canvas. It is palpable as emotion. It is what gives this set of paintings their magic. The electrical charge that brings them to life. And with this set I take a step beyond. Keeping the basic structure, the definition in overall time, but changing the feeling, the emotion that emerges from this creature person — factotum, a human, a person — from one microsecond to another.
