Boom. This abandoned horse stable has been empty for 7 years and still stands. I remember visiting here when horses peeked from the doors, chewing hay and eyeing me curiously. For a few years after the stable was vacated, the saddle, bridle, and riding gear remnants left behind could still be found strewn about. I don’t know who finally disposed of them or why. The barn is white to the naked eye but I decided to paint it with an apocalyptic sense of what could happen, as in boom, all gone. The result is a dreamlike documentation of the past that foretells an almost certain future. Yet the barn still stands today.
