This nymph is a strong guardian of a complex forest environment she fills with energy and power. The James river naiad views significant and often disturbing history under a current and past bridges in this former capitol of the Confederacy.
This nymph's environment is based on my photograph on tissue, layered over candy wrappers, creating the base of the image and providing shine and sparkle, but also highlighting the trash in our natural areas. The image in the photograph is a double exposure with some digital drawing and was tiled on nine sheets to cover the whole image. The nymph is painted and extensive paint is designed to blur what is background and foreground to a dreamlike state.
