The naiads are a strong guardians of a complex water environment they fill with energy and power. The Anacostia River and Potomac River naiads pose as the influencers they are at Mount Vernon, wearing crowns of native pinkster flowers and mussels.
This nymph's dreamlike environment is based on my own photograph, a double exposure of wetlands at the mouth of the York River and Mount Vernon with the the naiads painted and layered under mussel-bed patterns at different magnifications and maps of Mount Vernon and Washington DC.
