'Anticipation' is a purely lyrical abstraction of an uplifting feeling — I think of it as the flip-side of anxiety.

It is an expression of positive and celebratory memories for me: changing seasons, migration from one place to another, entering a wooded trail, waiting for a special guest, a baby's arrival, a wedding, opening a gift, waiting in the wings and goosebumps when the curtain rises.

The gold metallic paint shimmers in places depending on how light hits the painting.
