The title Flow With It comes from the concept of working into and through an abstract piece, making decisions as the image emerges. One technique I use to create something non representational is to begin with a patterned ground and paint freely around and over areas. Sometimes it’s just what’s needed to get going. The original ground may end up obscured beneath a discovered composition or it may become integral to the piece- as it is in this painting.
