As I reflected on Titus 3:4–7, I imagined new life in Christ as a young blue oak seedling, small, tender, full of promise. The Spirit, poured out like rain from above, nourishes this fragile beginning. Though drought may come and trials may gnaw at the edges like hungry caterpillars, the roots grow deeper, and grace sustains.
The seedling is a native blue oak; the moth is an ornate tiger moth, both found in the Northern California landscape I call home. This piece is a meditation on growth, hope, and the mercy that carries us through.
