Leda was a beautiful woman, and her beauty attracted the attention of Zeus, who spied her from his throne on Mount Olympus. The beauty of Leda roused Zeus to action, and the god transformed himself into a magnificent swan. The entire work is in shades of blue with a hint of pink. The nude woman, also with her back to the observer, is blue. She still has one arm around the swan’s neck, but in this work the other arm is around the swan’s body. The swan’s wings are in the same position, i.e. one around the woman and in front of her. This time the subjects appear to be standing in water.
