Ausencias - ¿Cesó la Horrible Noche?

Ausencias - ¿Cesó la horrible noche? es una pieza que hace parte de la serie de Dibujos Nacionales. Esta propuesta desarrolla una aproximación a la Historia Nacional y a su relación con el Arte Colombiano, para revisar de forma crítica la realidad política del país. En ese orden de ideas, el apropiarse del mapa de la República para sugerir una nueva manera de leer sus valores, en el presente. Esto permite establecer una actualización para ese contexto particular, planteado ya siglos antes por medio de texturas y luminosidades. La idea detrás de esta pieza es generar una imagen a partir de las perforaciones y los elementos faltantes, señalando la perspectiva y el relativo lugar del punto de vista del observador.

Se propone una desaparición del signo, pero se sugiere una posibilidad de relectura y organización a partir del nuevo marco referencial actual. De esta forma se realiza una operación donde el marco de la imagen se mantiene generando una cita, donde el símbolo señala ciertos vacíos estructurales que el espectador observa, haciéndole consciente de esa Colombia que existe en el presente.

Ausencias - Escudo Nacional is a piece that is part of the series of National Drawings Series. This piece develops an approach to Colombia´s National History and its relationship with Art in order to review critically the political reality of the country. The appropriation of the National Map of the Republic, suggests a new way of reading its values in the present. This allows the piece to establish an update for this particular context built through centuries, through textures and luminosities. The idea behind this piece is to generate an image using the perforations, pointing out the perspective and the relative place of the observer.

In this sense the disappearance of the sign is proposed, but a possibility of rereading and organizing based on the new current referential framework is suggested. In this way, the frame of the image is maintained, but the symbol proposes certain structural voids that the viewers can observe, making them aware of that Colombia that exists in the present.
