The Palimpsest series explores time, movement, and orientation through layered materials and repeated mark-making. Each work is built through accumulation, with paint, print, paper, and pattern applied, worn back, and reintroduced, allowing earlier decisions to remain visible rather than erased.

Woodblock-printed binary patterns carved from discarded materials form the underlying structure of the compositions. These patterns function as metaphors for natural and lived processes such as flow, passage, interconnection, and pause. Circular and concentric forms appear throughout the series as waypoints, moments of orientation that mark position without fixing it.

Begun in Hawai‘i and continued over many years in Florida, the series reflects a sustained engagement with place, memory, and navigation. Rather than presenting a linear narrative, the works hold multiple moments at once, treating time as layered and experiential. The Palimpsest series understands change not as rupture, but as gradual movement, marked by attention, return, and rest.
