A rotated half-inch grid was used to structure and then identify 13 locations to punch out unique color areas. The colorful dots on the right of the composition are in the exact respective locations from where they were removed. The isolation of the color allows the viewer to better appreciate the incredible range of hue in a single leaf of this hydrangea variety, as well as create an abstract composition.
