This is a pastel on Arches paper, 12" x 7.75" unframed, titled "Tree Scream no.1". It's a Expressionist piece in homage to my one of my favorite artists, Edvard Munch. His work, deeply rooted in psychology, had a profound influence on my development as an artist.
I had found a decayed tree in a local park while walking, and it just had the look of a frozen scream. If one is quiet enough when in nature, you can often "feel" that deep connection with our natural environment.
