Forest Fantasy

This painting began as an intuitive abstract, my first attempt at an abstract oil painting since college. I had just set up my new studio, and wanted to relax a little.

The figures just emerged as I worked, so I developed them and this is the result: a woods or forest environment with wisps or fae flying around as a mysterious figure moves in the background. Folklore is fascinating as it involves shared cultural experiences and unexplained stories that withstand the test of time.
