"Seeing Through the Smoke III" is one of three paintings of a series that were inspired by a series of news photos of the police response to the protests in Standing Rock, USA. Each painting was composed to highlight a different visual aspect of the smoke and water bombing.

My goal was to render the visual beauty of the moments, compositions that can stand on their own, but when put in their context of Standing Rock, have an entirely different meaning. It was my small way of bringing more eyes to the problem.
