Strolling the beach in Zanzibar, I observed a Styrofoam head gently lapping the sand. This toxic material more than likely traveled across the sea showing up as trash on this Indian Ocean beach. Suggestive, as I too was out-of-place in the foreign land of Tanzania; I just hoped I was seen as more than washed-up waste.
